Clearlake California

Hello everyone - It's cold here in Clearlake this morning and don't think I'll be fishing today unless it warms up a lot this pm.

This hawk was along Kelsey creek the other day while we were looking for fish. Kelsey creek is very clear and you can see the fish as you go up the creek. When we got up to the farthest most part that we could travel, we saw a large school of hitch (fish that bass like to eat) and right in the middle of the school is a big bass just tooling along with them. Then on the way out we heard the owl and then saw him fly to this tree. The sun was mostly in my way so couldn't get a really good shot of him in the tree and of course, while I had the camera out, he just sat there and didn't fly off.

It is a chilly 40 deg this am. Burrrrr. We are having sunny weather but cold. It was a whopping high yesterday of 58 deg so expecting about the same today. To say the least, I didn't go fishing out there in the wind and cold, but the fishing fanatic did. He had a couple of bass in the 4-5 lb. range.

We haven't tried crappie fishing yet, but hear it is very slow as well. The water temp is around the mid 50's to 57 right now so it beginning to warm up some so hopefully the fishing will improve before we leave here on the 31st.

Will try to get some pictures posted of the fishing soon. We only have pictures so for of an owl, a hawk, and a couple of ducks. There are lots of birds here and will get some other pictures later.

Well, until I have more to write I will go and feed the man.
