Rv Space Started

Well, it finally began. Can you believe it. We went out to the house yesterday and they were putting the big 12 x 12 beams in place and we didn't have the camera!! So we had to go home and get it before they put up the taller 12 x 12 beams on the front ends.

We took a shot of the space from the street cul-de-sac. Obviously, they don't have the drive in yet.

The above view is from today and is the back side that will be toward the trees. They have Braced it with 2x4's until they get the big metal brackets in place. That's our neighbor's house in the background.

This is the front of the space after they had all the 2 x 12's in place. The last one on the front will be another 12 x 12 beam with the same curved end. They did not put it in place as of yet. It will be very heavy. 19 ft across!!

We came over to vacuum up the garage and house. It is always a mess and it drives Terry crazy. He vacuumed and I watched the building, digging, etc. The septic tank is in the ground as you can see below.

It's a pretty big tank don't you think. After using a 40 gal black tank and a 60 gal grey tank, this thing is really, really big!!! It has three different sections, 500 gal, 750 gal and 400 gal, or something like that. Huge! The drain field will be approx 30 ft. by 75 ft. along the side yard.

Terry thought we should have a picture of the limestone that came out of the hole for the septic. They will haul this over to the rv drive area as fill.
I had to climb the rocks!! Guess I'm like Wendy and love rocks!!

Then John came back to dig the hole for the propane tank that you can see in the background. It's only 500 gal. We opted out of the 1000 gal one since we will be on a service that comes around on a regular basis and tops off the tank. We don't need to bury 1000 gals of money for propane!!

Well, they they started raising the big beam!! This is the corner beam which is about 19 ft tall. No equipment!! Just guys lifting and hoisting!!

It didn't take them very long. Below is a picture of the end of the beam that will go across the front of the space above the gates. It will lay on top of the front corner and back corner beams. They have not put it up yet. Maybe tomorrow. Hope we are there when they try to lift this up 19 ft in the air and then lay on the other beams!! Surely they will have equipment for that!

The back corner beam is now almost in place and then it's straight up and then in the bracket!!

The back side before we left today. They are putting up a wood front on the corbels for the back. I guess that will stablize the structure for the metal roof.

More pictures tomorrow. Hope you enjoy these.
Sandy
