More Sunriver

Hello again from Sunriver and again I had snow for my birthday. Yes, this is my picture in front of the snowy tree that I saw when I got up on my birthday.

I had a very enjoyable day just staying home and sewing. Terry cooked dinner and it was great.

The day before it snowed also but it didn't stick. All of this snow was melted by the end of the day. But that's Sunriver for you.

It was quilt shop hop week so Joanne, Karen and I had to go shopping. We really missed all of our other quilt shop hoppers this year, but we had a good time. We visited 4 shops and had a great lunch at a new restaurant in Bend call Chow. The food was very good and it was fun to have lunch at a new place.

I got a little bit from each shop so I could share the wealth!! Then the next day we made a movie date with the girls. Karen met us for lunch, but couldn't go to the movie since Kevin had knee surgery and she had to get to the hospital to pick him up. We missed her laugh.

We had lunch at one of my favorite places in Bend called Baldy's. Here are the girls after lunch. It was a sunny day but a little chilly.

The movie wasn't the greatest, but the company was fun.

We had lunch with our friends Jim and Carol Day from Crooked River. It was good to see them again since our trip to Clearlake.
Well, that's it from Sunriver. We will be here for a few more days before heading north. The coach is still being worked on and should be ready on Monday.
See you down the road.

Crosswater Frozen Open

Yes I'm bundled up because it's the annual Frozen Open at Crosswater. We had high temp of around 31 deg and blowing snow, wind, sun and clouds. Then we had a chili cookoff with hot dogs and chili with all the trimmings. My partner and I didn't win, but I did get long drive.

We were just glad to make it thru the day without freezing to death. Terry didn't play since he was ??? fishing?? Yes, that's right he was fishing on the Willamette River in Portland with his friend Phil and son. He froze also and he was on the water so I'm sure it was colder for him.

This is Karen and her partner Carol coming off of 13 while we were teeing off on 14. They braved the weather and walked the whole round. Very brave girls I would say.

Below are a couple of pictures of me trying to stay warm but enjoying myself. After all I am playing golf!!

We'll probably be around here another week or so and I do plan on playing golf hopefully Thursday if it gets up to 60.

Later. Sandy

Deer have arrived in Sunriver

Hello again. The deer were spotted for the first time yesterday. They were walking across the circle in front of the house and it was quite a large group of them as you can see. I didn't count them but somewhere between 15 and 20.

It is always a sure sign of spring when the deer arrive here for the summer.

I didn't see any small spotted babies, but I'm sure they are here or will be here soon!! The snow is melting at a good pace and will probably be gone before we leave here heading to Coeur d'Alene.

As you can see below, most of the snow is gone since our arrival. Today should be in the upper 60's but back in the low 40's for highs on Sat thru Mon with chance of snow again. It should melt pretty fast.

The golf course opens on Saturday, but I will probably pass. The high will be 41 with showers. Not the best conditions for playing golf, but they are having a chili cook off and I have committed to making a pot of chili for that. I think most people will be eating chili and sitting by the fire instead of playing golf.

Until later. Sandy

Bath day for the cats

The cats got their long awaited bath Sunday but were not happy. Puddles is drying now while we are bathing Thunder. She knows she is done so she's not hiding!!

Below Thunder is ready to get out of this sink so he can seek a place to hide. He is such a huge cat I had to take this picture. To say the least, we were soaking wet when we finished with him.

Well, I will get some pictures of the snow and post later. It is going away at a good pace. It's amazing how fast it disappears when we have 70 + deg weather for 2 days. Of course, now it will be back in the 40's and 50's for the next week.

Well, that's all today from Sunriver.

Snowy Sunriver Again

This is what we awoke to on Tuesday morning. I was going to quilting with Karen and then meet Terry in town after my dentist appointment, but I decided to forego the quilt meeting and go into town with Terry so I would not have to drive in this stuff and get two cars dirty!! It was very pretty and it snowed off and on all day while we were in town. I think the high in Bend was 45 deg.

Then again today this is our morning shot. The snow melted off of the patio yesterday and now again it's snowing. This snow should be gone today and a high pressure ridge is coming in and will be up to 70 deg on Sat. That will be a nice change.
We thought yesterday was the last snow fall we would see, ha!! I do have to go into town again today for doctor appointment, but Terry can stay here and work on Tom's new tivo.

Tonight we are having dinner with friends in Bend. So far our stay in Sunriver has been great.
Have a nice day everyone and I'll post more later.

Padricks and Candelerias

Hello everyone. We went to dinner at Ginni and Sean's on Sunday and saw their new house. It is very nice and they are very happy with it. It is in a nice neighborhood and they have walking paths around the perimeter which makes it nice for the dogs. This bedroom is "Barb and Tom's" but I particularly liked the quilt and pillows that Barb made for this bed. It makes the room!!

Ginni, Sean, Barkley and Annie in front of their new house. As you can see it was a nice day but a little nippy. We went on a walk with the dogs after dinner.

We also helped the Padricks move this tv down three flights of stairs. It took all four of us, but I think Terry and Kevin had the hard part. We were glad to finally reach the bottom.

Karen and I after the heavy lifting!!

Well, that's all from here for now, but will post more pictures.

Snow Again Today

Well, here it is again. More snow in Sunriver. Now I know why most people don't come back here until June!! It was 29 deg when we got up and now is only 45 at 11:45.
It just stopped snowing and the sun is trying to come out. We are going to Ginni and Sean's for dinner and hope to get pictures of their new house if we remember to take the camera.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday and will post more later.
Terry did get some trout yesterday fishing the Deschutes River but we don't have any pictures to post from that adventure. He said is was very cold!!
Well, again, later. Sandy

Snow in Sunriver

Hello everyone from snowy Sunriver today. This was the scene when Terry started loading the car to go fishing with Phil. We had a light dusting last night and the temp was approx 28 deg. Don't you wish you were here too??? I was going into Bend today to do some shopping, but it looks like I might not. I will probably just start my sewing projects today.

The driveway was a little slippery so don't want to drive on this stuff.

Well, until later, that's it folks!!

Puddles and Thunder

Hello everyone from Sunriver. Since we have this blog we thought we should have pictures of it's name sakes. Puddles and Thunder are posing nicely on Barb's Christmas table topper, so I just had to get the camera out and take a few shots.

They have been loving the house and all the room to run around in so many thanks to Barb and Tom for the house.

Thunder wanted to pose alone so you could see his features. They both will be getting a bath this week, but in the pictures they don't look too dirty.

He has been pretty vocal since being in the house and wouldn't let Terry sleep in this morning. After I got up he constantly went back to the bedroom and voiced his opinion about the man sleeping too late!!

I really like the shot below of Thunder. He does look like a show cat here.

Oh, we did get the MH washed yesterday while it was nice and sunny. Looks pretty good doesn't it. We will be taking it in for annual service today and then get the front end repainted next week. Then we will look lots better going down the road.

Hope you enjoy these snowy pictures. It was actually 20 deg when I got up this am, but will be in the 60's this pm.
Well, until later, I'll get going and make us some breakfast. Oh by the way, I did have to buy some of DiLuso's bread yesterday and it was yummy!! I really miss that bakery. Well, again, until later. Sandy

Sunriver

Well, hello from Sunny and Snowy Sunriver. We arrived yesterday around 7 pm and the roads were clear and dry the whole way. It was a long day, but not as bad as expected. As you can see there is still snow in the yards here, but none on the roads.

We need to get the mh washed since it did get pretty dirty since we left Stockton, CA on the 10th of March.
First, we have to get Terry off the phone. I think he needs to get one transplanted on his ear!! We got the boat in the garage so he can get it cleaned up later and believe me it needs cleaning up. I don't think I have seen it as dirty as it is right now. The birds had a field day on the top, in fact, we think they slept on it the last night we were in Clearlake!!

As you can see there is still plenty of snow in the front yard, but it will be in the high 50's or low 60's tomorrow. Today it's 50 and feels really nice outside. No breeze and no humidity!!Well, we will be here until the 23rd at least. I want to have my b'day here so we will probably go to Boardman on the 23rd for a week or less then up to Coeur d'Alene, ID.

More pictures later.
